As a comparison this is what a heated seat base looks like , u might be very lucky and have the heated squabs already fitted, mines also a base model and didn’t have them, but u never know

That will take out a lot of work if u already have them and will just then have to make up a loom from the hvac unit to the seat

Yes that does help.
I will have a look tomorrow hopefully they have as i said why would it have four wires if they were not there ? my D2 has non electric seats but still has heated seats.
I will disconnect battery for 30mins in the morning and separate that plug under the seat again and follow the wires and see exactly where they go to in the seats and post my findings and photo's tomorrow.

Glad it helped

Trying to remember now ref the wires, lol, 2 x connectors will be for the pretensioner, one is the seat airbag so that in theory if u have 4 x wires should be the heated seat bases which indeed would be a great result for u

must admit one of the best mods I done was fitting front electric seats, makes it so much more comfortable , bought mine 3 x years ago as a project ,first thing done was the belts / oil pump cover

Just finished fititng a D4 steering wheel to mine

I have just been looking at that link you added for me and if you look at the pictures where he connects the charger the plug has the exact same connections as mine pink on one row then blue above pink on second row then yellow next to blue then a gap then yellow .
that is exactly the same as my plug i will test to see if they heat up with a charger tomorrow and let you know.

By the way like the steering wheel i have fitted the one with the cruise control and radio buttons and phone but from a sport D3 but yours looks much nicer , may look into that at a later date.

Indeed good call as per link ref in also putting a 12v supply on urs to see if thr squabs heat up ok

Will then be the extra loom from the hvac to the seat , also wonder if the fuses are already in place but not hard to add at the end of the day

Cheers , find the controls more user friendly , I also added the D4 wiper and lighting stalks, do prefer them

Done some other mods , added a split charge system, inc a 12s towing socket in order I can charge the batteries up through the socket , saves having to lift the bonnet , also bought the gap iid diagnostic reader, fantastic bit of kit and really does save when trying to find faults, inc being able to turn things on and off or calibrating the suspension , etc

Well i did some tests this morning and although the plug under the seats looks the same i could not get them to warm up so i do not think the pads are in the seats (bummer) Any way gstuart you said you retro fitted electric seats in yours now did you have to do any mods to fit them or do they just plug into that plug under the seat and work ? The reason i ask is i have seen two front electric heated seats on eBay .
So if they just plug in and work then all i would need is the plug from the HVAC with the wires down to the plug in the foot well as described in that post you added for me then they should work ?
The mods you have done are brill hopefully i will add more mads as i go along.
I have only had this car a few weeks at the moment and i am planning to have the timing belts and pump changed shortly (when i sell my D2 reluctantly)

I have the Lynx diagnostics it covers all the discovery range and can add different models at a cost it can remove faults calibrate suspension and other stuff just need to learn more with it .

Hi All
To get heated seats working i need to get the connection from the back of the HEVAC and it's connecting wire down to the footwell.
I have ordered some replacement heated seats but i will need that connection from the back of the HEVAC to get them working does any one know where i can get it from ?
I am attaching photo's so you can see what i am talking about or maybe someone has that connection i need and could let me have it i of course would cover the cost for it no problem.

My replacement electric seats arrived today and when i checked them i was shocked to see a lot of connector plugs under the drivers seat ?
I thought it would just be the big black connector to plug in but apparently not so , the passengers side just has the one big black multi plug that just looks like a plug and play on the passengers side. But the drivers side looks more complicated ? any help you could give me gstuart on this as you have fitted these in your car.
I am adding some pictures so you can see what i am on about.

You’ll have connections to the seat switch pack so that you can adjust the seat and also maybe the memory ecu depending on spec of the seats you’ve bought

When i connect my Lynx diagnostics i have seen one of the programmes that lets you go into the seat memory setup so would assume that the memory is in my ecu.
But all those plugs and the memory plug where do i connect them ?

Do you have the switchpack to adjust the seats? Do they have memory buttons?

Google search Discovery 3 seat memory ecu and you can see where the majority of the smaller connections plug into

What do you mean switch pack? and memory buttons ? where would thay be ?
I have googled the seat memory ecu and it looks like there are many different models ? I did not know about this memory ecu surely they should not have removed this from the drivers seat as it is part of the seat ? I will phone them up tomorrow to ask for the ecu for the seat but i can bet they will want more money for it ! I will of course argue that it should not have been removed from the seat as it is part of the electrics .
But i can bet i will have to pay for it , if that happens i will leave them very poor feedback.

Hi mate

Looking at the pics the memory seat module isn’t there , u can determine if u have memory seats by looking on the drivers side switches, if u have numbers 1/2/3 on there that’s a memory seat

Passenger seat will just be plug and play

Drivers seat U have a few options

Get a memory module and then do a wiring bypass , that only allows the seat to operate for a few seconds , u then have to push the switch again to get the seat to move

What I did was remove the entire memory seat module, loom and memory seat switches , bought a non memory seat switch, 2 x seat non memory looms and adapted it so I now have constant power to the drivers seat

It is very involved if u wish to make ur seat a memory seat , as it also controls mirrors, electric steering column

Here’s a few links for u which explains how to do the wire bypass, however u havent got the memory module , which in reality will be expensive to get it working , so either contact the company u bought the seats from to enquire about the missing memory module and do the 2 x seconds burst adaption or make up a new loom and new non memory seat switch pack

Plus a few pics out of interest , this is what I done to have a non memory seat but constant power to the drivers seat

Had to remove terminals and swap plugs over as well , just rembered I used 2 x seat looms to make up the one drivers

Hopefully guides u a little of what’s involved

Some other adaptions U can do are

Fit a 12 s socket , u can then plug a ctek battery charger in to maintain ur battery, saves u having to lift the bonnet, I fitted a socket on the front of the house and ctek charger in the hall, I done a battery split charge system so when I park on my drive is very easy to simply plug it in and turn the charger on
