Disco 2 Headlining - Anyone gone for black?

Yep, I see your point exactly, I read in these pages many folk having problems with a leaky sunroof in their Disco, and I wouldn't have one as a gift, (sunroof that is), over here in NQ open top/sunroof equipped cars make you feel like you are sitting in an oven. Biggest influence on choosing a car, the BOSS LADY asks, "how effective is the a/c?"

Our Defender sunroof leaked like billy-ho. Gave the rim a good clean then smeared good coating of petroleum jelly. Result: no more leaking. :)

Prepping for the big headlining removal and associated works to sunroof etc. and the strip and replace of the saggy headlining. Have samples from Martrim to best match the existing, but have seen photos of black trim and think it looks quite good. Has anyone gone for this, as my only fear is that it may be a bit oppressive given I already have black leather and carpets etc... would appreciate any feedback for those that have done it.
Was going to rip our old, saggy, and mucky headliner off and start again. Then tried one of these spray on valet dry cleaners. Sprayed, scrubbed and wiped. Did a great job, took 45 mins. Totally clean and looks less saggy. I might experiment with 'injecting' a little glue through the headliner material to see if it will hold the material into the contours and so save replacing.

The leaking fixed with sealant between frame and body... stains on headlining not fixable. Sagging not tolerable when you are 6ft 6"" and only just fit in! Guess colour selection is a personal preference... black less "rank" than stained saggy original. Ran without any fabric on for a while... just the liner.. surprising how much the 3mm of foam dampens the noise.
