Hi all. I’m brand new to this forum and brand new to Land Rover so please be gentle. I’ve got an 02 Dicso 2 Serengeti and the roof liner is sagging especially where the sunroofs should be. As a temporary fix, could I drill small holes through the fibreglass roof and use trim clips to hold the fabric in place? I’m not sure there’s sufficient room for said clips between the fibreglass and the metal roof.
Many thanks in anticipation

Welcome, if you haven't already go make a post in the introduce yourself section :)
To be honest, you can get the thing out in an hour with some help, its just removing trim etc, there are guides on it. I sprayed mine with textured black paint, if you'd like to see here is the thread, You could drill holes and use very short clips I suppose, but then you would have to put new fabric on eventually, or you'd see the holes with paint. Depends how picky you are :p

Few months ago I have done mine as well. Removed it and changed the fabric. Looks like new! I was also thinking to do a temporary fix but decided to renew complately. If you want to keep the car long term do it that way.
You can find very useful descriptions how to do, so not so difficult.

Thanks for your reply. The finished job does look quite smart. So now I’m in two minds, fix or paint!!

as a side note and know it’s not a D2 , i also had the pleasure of having to remove my headliner, when i had to replace my curtain airbags , dealer told me the windscreen had to come out to remove the liner , yeh right i don’t think so, came straight out the boot, JUST, lol

also removed the side boot and storage trim , all good fun

ps, i’m pretty sure there a D2 headliner replacemt post on here, will try and find it

Be aware on the D2 there will be some wires running above the headliner and of course the sunroof drains if you have them, I also think theres quite a gap between liner and the steel roof of at least 1.5 inches maybe more.
Certainly the one I took down had twin roofs and rear a/con and thats a lot of gear to squeeze in up there.

Pics of D2 so if you do drill you can see where to avoid

All those wires...

Pretty certain td5 was pre canbus so every function had to have a wire, I can remember the main body loom in the ES 300tdi being enormous whereas with canbus you need only 4 wires, power and earth along with can hi and lo and thats it you can make it all work with just them.

When I get my new disco I'll have to do my headlining again.. will probably do a write up.. maybe not for a while though
