Hi all
Got a problem with headlights. Dipped and main beam work fine but full beam dont work at all. When I push the stork backward the main beam turns off as its supposed to and the blue dash light works too but no full beam.
Any ideas appreciated
Alex

if he is getting headlight voltage to the column switch and both dipped and main beam work, but not flash (or vice versa) it can only be a switch fault =- otherwise main beam wouldnt work on any setting.

i think he means it has dipped beam and 'flash/pass' but not continuous high/main beam

no that is totally not what i mean sorry this always seems to be a problem on here. I have dipped beam, main beam, but not flash/full beam.

wot a silly idea - so all the power goes through the column switch - quickest way to burn out contacts i know..........

and it looks like it has

I found this out when I lost the permanent part of the main beam on my old V8. I spose there theory is that you only flash the main beam momentarily so it won't stay live long enough to get hot.

its not the getting hot so much as the arcing across the contacts milliseconds before they contact each other.
