Hasn’t anyone driven a TDCI with 37” Maxxis Trepador “non” sticky comps??

From the video above and like I said, the film ones were "properly seriously modded bits of kit"

I'd bet that if they've dropped gear rations , uprated the power and lockers that they've up-rated the CWP too, and the halfshafts and probably props to suit too ... You can see it's lifted with the strap limiters for droop, the front wings at least are also cut to fit the tyres inside, and then the proper roll cage ... yeah, nothing special ...

None of that is really special tbh... it's all bolt on off the shelf stuff.
Seriously modded would involve chassis modifications, hydraulic steering or rack installed, long travel suspension, LS3 or cummins type engines, wheelbase modifications and 4 link front suspension... custom fabrication etc etc.

I think it's seriously modded .. You can't buy the vehicles with the mods already done and swapping out diffs and gearing etc is somewhat seriously modded I'd say! I doubt most people consider it ... They wanted 'the look' and the power and couldn't have them without the extra mods, which is why I mentioned the mods in support of the OP's questions about fitting 37" Treps. I'd suggest anything over £1k to be seriously modded .. and that little lot would cost a lot more than that, as well as the labour and extras needed to make it happen at Special Vehicles.

Makes you wonder about the "Spectre" fenders on ebay for £30k bet they drive like utter ****e and break down often

A set of decent wheels and tyres will approach 1k
Tbh, I would consider a vehicle that can't easily be returned to factory condition with bolt on parts as seriously modded.
Fitting a different ratio differential or swapping the transfer box is nothing fancy.
The spectre land rovers could be returned to factory spec after a day in the shop and nobody would be any wiser.

I dunno, I have no issue with swapping diffs etc and all of that, but if someone is just after the looks they're serious mods to be able to get the look and keep it somewhat reliable. I take your point that most of it can be easily changed back to factory spec.
I guess we come from different perspectives, I just doubt anyone would want to do the extra work to fit 37" Treps and a rope..

May not be really special. But it is certainly quite expensive, and quite un-necessary for most.

To get back to reality apart from the speed over rough ground I didn't see much if anything that my 200Tdi 90 couldn't do. I was really wanting him to have a go at the ditch crossing on the top of one of the slopes, that would be where all the trick suspension would make a difference, but he didn't.
As far as going up the slope, feet off, on tickover, my 2004 Citroen camping car has an anti-stall gubbins on the motor when in 1st gear. (Very handy for mounting the level blocks we sometimes need to use)
Looks nice and "butch" in tesco's car park, be interesting to see it put through it's paces on a CCVT section, no doubt it could do it if driven properly. But that's my point really, most of the mods are not really neccessary if all you want is to get you stuck in interesting places. Recovery rope on the front, why (I know it was only for show) my recovery rope is on the back of mine if off-road so I can pull the other guy out.

Do you reckon i'll need to update diffs, CV joints etc if I run 35" tyres and not 37's? Really don't want to have to upgrade all of that lot if i'm going to build a Spectre homage.
