i cannot get my rave cd to work, computer does not even recognize there is a cd in it, so does not try loading it.i am trying to find out, if, the switch pack fails, does the rear door switches stop working aswell?

The switches go to BECM, and motor drive back from it. Shouldn't need switch pack working, but who knows. Will try it later.

Another job for Nanocom as the windows can be operated via diagnostics.
If the rear window inhibit in the switch pack is active, the the rear switches are disabled, so it's possible that a switch pack failure could stop the rear window switches from working.

i do not know what diagnostics the garage are using in the obd2 port, but they say it needs a new switch panel at £422, because they said , when they were resetting the windows, the front worked perfectly when they tried the rear windows , they came down but will not come back up. and they say they will not go back up using the switches in the doors either, and they say the sunroof doesnt work either , it all worked before because i had to reset it all after getting the keycode entered after replacing battery,

It's rare for the complete switch pack to fail, normally it's just one switch.
The car should have the lazy locking feature, so tell the garage to lock the car with the FOB holding the lock button down for 5 seconds, that should cause any open window to close.
Also check fuse 12
