Like wise, i bet not many peps done water lane in reverse

I feel that some form of explanation is called for here. We are not talking about driving a lane in the "wrong" direction" here - we are talking about reversing back up a lane which GLASS describes as...
"Water Lane, as it is more commonly known, is one of the most challenging lanes in the area. It runs down a deep V gully and has been responsible for a considerable amount of body damage to cars over the years. The Northern end of the lane is the bed of a stream which is under several inches of water for most of the year."
Although the lane was dry we negotiated the first half of the lane (and to be honest I thought that was bad enough) untill we got to a section of severe X-axleing and a steep 18"? drop over rocks. Redwing had got to this drop when he discovered two vehicles travelling up the lane. He decided that it would be easier???? if we reversed a hundred hards or so to a convenient passing point. This we did. I feel that we should point out that this section is sufficiently ramped across the lane that you dont drive it, the lowest side of the vehicle is actually dragged along the side of the lane. Not good when going forwards, but going backwards up the cross-axle section with one side dragging the bank and rear wheel!! steering is not to be recomended. I am surprised that more damage wasnt caused. I think Lukes motor suffered by ripping out an off-side rear corner panel - and Redwing broke a mirror.

This is the pic of Redwing reversing out - you can clearly see the O/S dragging the side of the lane.
