Would anyone see a reason to NOT use black Hammerite spray to seal the underbody/chassis? I know its more expensive than Wayoil but i feel would be longer lasting and more effective.

Most chassis rot from the inside out so whatever you decide to coat the outside with you need to spray something, whether it be waxoyl or old injun oil, in thru the numerous wee holes in yer chassis an orl.

Hamrerite looks good but in reality chips too easily and is not flexible at all.
You'd be better off using a good two pack paint as it covers better and is flexible to resist chipping.
If you spray old engine oil into the chassis remember it will find many holes you never knew existed and drip all over the place for a few days. It will also pool in the lower parts which is where the water tends to collect which can only be a good thing as it will repel the water - especially if you spray when the chassis is good and dry.
If I won the lottery I'd have a chassis professionaly made out of stainless steel just for the hell of it. Reckon it would be a good talking point and it should outlast me with absolutely no maintenance what so ever.
I knew someone who filled their chassis with expanding foam to keep the water out. Sounded a good idea in the pub but I dont know if it worked because I lost contact many years ago.

Who's bin postin bollix then?
