Quick update I can see the shaft going in from the other side I’ve just ordered a cheap second hand one that I’m going to just try and put in without the cv joint on it I’ve that goes in then I no the bit inside is all ok just to save me taking my cv joint off

Yer but I’ve I do that and screw the cir clip again I will have to wait again for replacement I’ve done the short side and that seems ok

Got one side done and new clips will be here today for me to probably take off the other side again and try an get the poxy haft shaft in the axle all the way but least got short side done

If you have a file that's fine enough you could dress the damage and try again. If it came out, it should go back in?
Did you have any diff noises beforehand?

No mark no noises I heard from diff ive tried file a bit still not working I’m waiting for an old second hand one to arrive in the week then when I get home next Friday will try it I’ve it goes in all good I’ve not I suppose I will have to strip the diff casing off and have a look

From the damage it looks like you haven't had the splines parallel with the ones in the diff.when you slide the halfshaft in you have to support the shaft on your hand and gently press down on the c/v so the inner end tilts up.when it enters it will slide in.but a Dremmel and clean off the burrs.

Bloody burrs again... Furry gits..

Cleaned it up on the end again will wait for second hand one to arrive an try that but drained oil from diff not good colour and plug bit caked up but when cleaned of onto piece of white paper there were no big bits at all I’ve the secondhand haftshaft doesn’t go straight in it’s new diff I suppose
