Trying to get cv joint onto halft shaft and broke 2 cir clips any suggestions please they just seem to not go in right and 1 I did pulled out with just a gentle tug also does anyone no the correct part number for said items as the ones I broke came in the kits thanks in advance

Cant help with part numbers but my dodge for getting cv joints back on is wrap bit of thin tin round shaft over said barsteward clip and tighten in place with a jubilee clip just enough to compress said barsteward clip into the groove, now hopefully when you tap the cv joint (as in hit it with a bleeding hammer) on to the shaft the tin and jubilee will slide along shaft allowing the clip to remain compressed until it enters the cv joint, other than that swear a lot and stamp your feet then swear some more, hope that helps.

Stamped swore and hit with hammer one side done got to wait for more clips now to do the other side as I broke about 3 clips but thanks

Now he tells me lol was to late mark already done grease but managed to do one side next headache is it’s not going into the axle properly it’s about 1 an half inches out it’s lifting into it ok but doesn’t seem to want to mount to seal properly

What you think mark I can’t see any broken bits

No all from same axle gave up in the end it beat me will try again tomorrow I’m going to file each tooth just to make sure there’s no burrs or anything causing it not to go in properly

You can put a smudge of grease or oil on the end if it's dry... Painful I know!!

Yer will try that there’s no way the diff teeth could move is there without it going into gear I’ve taken the near side out and put back no probs at all

Not likely unless the planet wheel cage has been broken!!
You may find with it being the long side that it might need a little more lift I side at the diff end. Being the longer shaft it's a little more harder to negotiate into the miff, sorry diff.....:p

Yer I’m lifting it and it seems to be going in a bit my next step is to look at the cv joint and make sure it’s the correct one and not to long
