no i suppose you must be right not even the 125 built to enter in in the touring car class pity that i must own a flying carpet
I still quite often accelerate hard from lights to prevent chavs from being in front of me down the road.. if they're going to pile into a lamp post I'd rather they did it behind me than in front..
It was easy in the V8, it's even easier in my Saab..
The thing to remember though is that you aren't racing cars you are racing drivers.. it's not about whether the chavs car is capable of out accelerating your car it's about whether you are awake, alert and focussed enough to get the power you have on the road before them.. in most cases it's absolutely about reaction times.. as people have said in theis fred they get to the speed limit look behind them and the chav's still on the line.. probably just getting it in gear or remembering to take the hand brake off..

Over the years I have owned my share of fast motors. I have taken these to track days etc. I have also had my share of silly modified cars also taken to trak days. I have also been lucky enough to own my fair share of fast bikes. even enetered the isle of man TT twice with my bikes. And I will confess I used to drive like a right fookin twot cos I had my head up my arse and though I was all that just cos I'd raced these m/c's legally. and of course in my younger days left an awfull lot standing at the lights ho hum.
Now several years ago when my wife was preggers with our youngest son I thought well I now a dad x 2 so i need my last silly toy and bought a kawa 900 zxr ninja in its day it was a seriously fast bike dunno about now though. I had then owned this bike for just over a year when one hot sunny sunday afternoon me and me mates had been out round the twisty lanes of derbyshire and had some fun. Now while riding back from matlock I was only 2 miles from home in a 40 limit and yes unusally 4 me at the time I was doing 40 when this dizzy women in a bloody vectra thought it would be fun to pull half way across the road right in front of me. no space left for me to go so I the hit her car and spread my bike down the road and yes in fookin hurt in more ways than one. luckly I walked away and so did she. but it tought me a big lesson that there is always some prick round the next corner and it don't matter how good you are its more how bad the other diver is.
I learnt that lesson the hard way. I now drive a big fat chelsy tractor and poodle every where at or just below the limit no matter what I am driving and take account of road and wether conditions.
Most boy racers r carp drivers and have not remebered n e thing they where taught in order to pass the test. and you can't put an old head on young shoulders.
now as for my self I know I am not a good driver. I also know I have my faults. I have passed a lot more driving tests than most as I have every catogory on my dvla licence except for tanks. I have also taken the IAM test for cars years ago and finally I hold and approved instrutors licence for HGV class 1. but I still say I am not a good driver and have my faults. However I always try to be a safe driver and curtious. However there is no nicer feeling than late at night when the roads are quite and not many ppl r about to leave the little spotty dick head in his **** box stood at the lights but only up to the limit !!!! tee hee
Wow Red, your a really safe driver aren't you?
Driving like a **** and racing on the motorways, blocking people from exiting the motorway? Good job their wasn't any police around to see you doing that.
