Green lanes in Derbyshire

You can't have a big long convoy (well we can but lets not give the hippie ramblers any excuses) so I suggest everyone meets at the pub and then sets off in 2 groups with a bit of a gap between them.

Guideline advice is no more than 4/5 in a group. When ya plannin on runnin this khaos I may be interested in coming along.

Not too sure really Gratch. I was waiting for someone to volunteer to help me and take charge and I think you fit the bill ;) Some time in march I would think maybe in a few weeks. I need to get my insurance sorted because I'm not insured on the 90 yet. If I can come, I definitely will.

I know less than you about it:confused: How up to date is your lanes list? It's probably worth checking with the R.O.W officer at the council to look at the definative map and getting in touch with Op. Blackbrook to get advice from them. I can only do the odd sunday.

All I've ever driven is pay and play every weekend. I know for a fact that the lanes are open because I went up as a passenger last sunday and there are signs up saying all vehicles must keep to the tracks and be careful of trees being cut down so they must be open.

They came from being a passenger a few times and this website maythegreenovalbewithyou.

A lot of the lanes are roads, not byways.

THey are mostly old pics aren't they.
Stanage going up - not any more please.
Bakewell Ford - not legal anymore.
That's the sort of site that can seriously catch you out, and when you consider that you can have your motor seized for being in the wrong place, it makes a lot of sense to make a trip to the RoW office

Well I had a quite unlikely encounter with the guy who runs Glossop 4x4 club so will be joining that and hopefuly going out with them atthe end of the month. Il remember where we go and then can take some out from here!

No worries about the bracket dave, hope it works!

Good idea to go with experienced guys.

Just for a bit of news though, it seems that Long Causeway (Stanage Edge) has been modified to Nyway Open to All Traffic, which is nice.
There were some nasty objections but common sense thankfully previaled.
Oh yes, and Chapelgate has been TRO'd for drainage work to be carries out and a survey of what needs doing to move forward with future management.
Which is also nice.
