its been left in reverse parked on a slight slope,i was submerged in approx 4ft of water/mud for 10-15 mins upto the seatbase inside the disco

i cannot get the gearstick out of reverse and i can only move difflock left n right it wont go into neutral,

dried up mud M8 turned to concrete............. Do as daft said

so gear stick wont move ?

sounds like everyone else says- give it a good tug to free it up (in a high gear maybe?) then maybe change gearbox oil. i could be wrong but just an idea....

nope not a single bit nor transfer lever

not good to tug forward when its stuck in reverse tho

the mud was like clay as u can se at the end of vid

its like pulling teeth ,if weight of vehicle is putting pressure on g/box it will be difficult to slide rev idler out or hi/low,if not remove consol and tin cover off g/box top

always try the cheap n easy stuff first.

that was has been suggested but 3 of us couldnt budge it backwards,so gonna try with another disco pushing it tomoro,i only left it in gear cos handbrake keeps getting full of mud n sticking on..looks like i will have to bring me trusty brick back into play

as said earlier theres an 8ft wall there and i park right upto it

dont forget to remove glo plugs.
I still reckon it is too risky to try brute force, before yu try and move the gear levers.

putting your foot on the clutch with brick behind a wheel would prove if its that ,

dipping clutch makes no difference atall

can i ask the reason for removing glow plugs?

coz yu mite be spinning injun over?

but then again maybe not if yu are trying to free the clutch.

might seem silly but how about oil the drive and slide it off (towed obviously) pain in the arse cleaning up the drive afterwards but just a thought....

but you are still pullin summit forward that has gears engaged for reverse this is why i havent done it yet
