Hi guys
today I have gone to feed my bees and one of my sites is off road
you have to go down a very slight bank and its all wet grass and the bank is shallow and well put it this way my old trooper had no problems going up or down it.

on the way out I got to the top of the bank and then I got stuck

I don't understand why this is?
I have a set of brand new Goodrich tires and everything?

from the front drivers side I was getting a (what sounded like a clicking noise) as I think the wheel was slipping?

before you ask I don't know what a diff is or anything like that
all I know is sorely I should not get stuck on this type of terrain?
 
they are brand new BF Goodridge A/T ko tires

That's bloody stupid why is there such an issue? Thought they were ment to be off road cars


they are.

however. looking at your tyres.. they still have the knobbles on.. brand spanking new..

tyres actually need to be worn in, they grip better when worn in. also consider dropping your tyre pressures to 28 PSI all round
 
you probably need a good 300 miles till they wear. new tyres fresh from the mould do not have good grip. look at motor racing.. you see the formula drivers spinning the wheels to heat the rubber and burn off the surface smooth to get grip. fresh new tyres grip poorly, that surface smoothness from the casting on a surface like wet grass will grip very poorly.

I've learned from experience.. when young and stupid (too much right foot not enough brain), new tyres in the wet and ended up facing the wrong way on the road... no bent metal though.. that was a school day !

a tyre specialist who did a lot of tyres for club racers gave me a good talking to about it.

brake pads/discs also need bedding in properly !
