Hi Gav..best awning you can afford, preferably acrylic as they don't leak and rot like cotton. Isabella, Trio or Dorema are good. You should be able to do a search to find the correct size for your 'van.

How do change the plugs on a V8 caravan???

is the water pump supposed to run all the time or is there a problem, its got wires to the taps and a little pump that goes in the water bottle. its constantly running so i'm assuming theres and issue with one of the taps.

or maybe the wiring, if its just the taps and replacement/repair is not possible will the water heater be ok with a switch on the pump? or is it more complex than that?

easy its a 240v so same as yer house!:doh::doh::doh:

Some systems have micro switches built into the taps to switch the pump off, others have a pressure switch in the feed from the pump. The micro switches are available as replacement parts. As you are close to Sheffield, take a trip to Towsure (Have website) but leave your wallet at home, otherwise you will spend a fortune!!

i'm a regular at towsure and go outdoors! not sure how to test which tap is causing the issue or if it is the tap apart from cutting wires till it stops!

Are there not push on connectors to the taps?? If they are "Hard wired"..cut one of the wires to the taps, one at a time and fit male & female spade connectors afterwards. It may pay to disconnect the tap switches altogether and fit a pressure switch into the system instead, just wire it in series with the pump live feed. The pressure switches are made by Whale and readily available, just need to plumb it in to the water feed from the pump

One thing to lry with the firdge is to take it out and turn it upside down and leave it like it for 24 hours. Also carvan fridges need the carvan to be level when running on gas.

thats next on list, but its not desperate at the moment. also i have no idea what awning to buy!!

Don't know if you are looking to buy a new awning or how much you expect to pay, but I can recomend www.herzog-freizeit.de for good quality. I don't know how prices compare to the UK but most caravaning stuff seems cheaper over here and you can learn German at the same time LOL:D

if you can gav find an indi caravan service place, and take the fridge out and get them to service it,i had the same problems with mine in the first van we bought, and i paid £40 to get it serviced, the amount of crap that came out was unbeliveable, like the guy told me you get all the tiny insects getting in and nesting which can cause all sorts of problems, once he had serviced it is was spot on even when we sold it for a newer model

Normally the 12v is to keep the fridge cold whilst towing, as it pulls about 8A, it wouldn't take long to flatten a battery. I have left the gas on when we have taken ours on the boat abroad (Naughty, yes..but gotta keep the rashers and beer cold) and the boat is not always level!! Put it on 240V with the selector switch to the "Lightening" position and the thermostat to the highest position. I've left the caravan parked up for over 12 months and have never had to take the fridge out and tip it upside down, unheard of!!!
The fridge on mains should be cold in about 3-4hours..just remember it's not so quick to go cold as your fridge at home. Is there juice getting to it, most have a indicator light built in to the mains and 12V switches.

got a new job john, basicly delivering milk to the hospitals, but as it,s doncaster/sheffield and barnsley i start work at 2 am and finish about 2/3pm,so i am a bit knackered when i get home,so i havn,t really been on the computer much while im getting settled in to the job

Good for you Andy...watch it when you park up in Rotherham..the pikey will offload your truck in no time!!!!
Are you changing your name to "Ernie"????? Any "Fringe benefits" with the nurses??

Should be an adjuster on the valve under the seat where the water comes in.

i don,t really see the nurses as i deliver straight to the catering dept, where a lot of the bigger hospitals have a central dept,im not complaing though as it,s good money and the contracts are for the next 5 years,i don,t need to buy milk or bread, though as we are aloud 4 pints and 2 loaves a day, plus a tray of yogart
