It would be better if you kept to just one thread as it's still the same problem just different question...
Has anyone received a goodwill gesture?
We have been offered 40% - they said it's their "final" offer for defective transmission (apparently) - long story..... only 40,000 miles, 4 year old Disco Sport, out of warranty will cost £7.5K (60% contribution from us = £4300)
Query...
- Anyone successfully gone back and argued their case for more? They started at 20%.
- If I accept the goodwill (for the purpose of getting the car back on the road) can I still raise a dispute with the Motor Ombudsman?
+1I think you will find most of the ombudsmans are funded by the industry they are meant to police!
The cheapest answer is get the car back you you regardless of cost (I think this was suggested in one of the many other threads) then get a local gbox repair pace to collect the car and sort it for you, even if it means a 2nd hand gbox, fix it as cheap as possible then get rid.
+1
I think she has got into bed with the devil,
rather perturbing was her mentioning the the 'powers that be' have suggested she refrain from voicing her 'story' on social media until a resolution is agreed.
I shall refrain from suggesting what I'd do at that particular juncture!
Well yes of course, but if she manages to wangle that then there's little prospect of her showing her face in here again.I would keep shctum if they were paying 100 percent, but not for 40 percent off their retail prices meaning the job is costing them pretty much nowt!
Well thats rather a rude and judgemental comment.Well yes of course, but if she manages to wangle that then there's little prospect of her showing her face in here again.
