leave the kit behind and have less chance of breaking down without carrying the extra tonne. Best suggestion I’ve heard for what to take was Datateks - snacks :) if you want a woman to stop moaning about breaking down stuff some chocolate in her mouth and watch them change :D

Thought about that - but those channel tunnel people wanted to charge me double:D
Good photo Data - is this how you usually get around the French countryside?
That was en-route home after picking up the heap I bought. 700 kilometre round trip, no spares carried apart from diagnostics a compressor and a set of emergency inflation valves. The car had been abandoned in a vineyard as beyond repair. Runs well now, FIP timing needs doing and still some cosmetic stuff to do though.

In tank pump and starter motor are the things that have let me down in Russia and also have used one of the tyre sealers /inflater in an air bag that developed a leak worked for 2000 miles until i got back home
I like the idea of carrying tyre sealer for airbag emergencies. Did you apply it direct into the airbag, or take the pipe from the valve block and spray it down the pipe to the offending bag?

Straight in the bag I assume. Anything else would be asking for trouble. Must have made an adapter of sorts to get the stuff in there.

Well guys, thanks for all of the suggestions. I won't follow all the advice, otherwise I'll be towing another Rangey, covered in beer, stopped at customs for carrying a bowie knife, and claiming on the health insurance to get the duck tape removed from the wifes mouth.
On our way in the morning. Fingers and toes crossed. Might even make it to Folkestone without any issues:cool:

Fûcking right on!!:cool::p:)
Enjoy your holidays:D

I envy you (I think) although I'd rather trust my Classic than your chosen mount.
Have a great, safe & uneventful holiday :D Remember the British conquer all language barriers by raising their voices above all others :rolleyes:

LHD P38's sell for high prices in France. The one you mention is in Spain I think and is RHD with no MOT or Spanish paperwork so it's worth scrap value as it can only be moved on a trailer or flatbed. If it were closer I'd be interested.
