How would the trim affect the alternator?Which trim is your vehicle and what size battery?
How would the trim affect the alternator?Which trim is your vehicle and what size battery?
I was referring to his battery. The trim affects which battery he needs. How would the trim affect the alternator?
But does not affect the alternator charge characteristics.I was referring to his battery. The trim affects which battery he needs.
Sh1tfit Arrrgh, you sure they fitted the correct alternator?Earth to chassis was cleaned when new alternator supplied by LRdirect last week for my vehicle. The original was even tested and found to be okay but not sure how in-depth quickfit do check.
I quoted the 'cant be two faulty battterries" not his alternator. But does not affect the alternator charge characteristics.
I take it you mean 2000rpm. So the alternator is not charging as it should. You need to check the earth strap. then it's down to the D+ wiring assuming the correct alternator is fitted. With engine running at 2rpm the battery is reading 13.7v
I know you have checked the batteries but which trim and what specs for battery? With engine running at 2rpm the battery is reading 13.7v
sorry but that is irrelevant.I know you have checked the batteries but which trim and what specs for battery?
Let's see when he answers, shall we?sorry but that is irrelevant.
For clarity. I was sent chasing down and buying a new alternator for a similar ( but not exactly the same ) issue a few years ago. The alternator is still in its box in the garage. The battery, now the correct one, is happily doing what it should.sorry but that is irrelevant.
I may be chasing the wrong path, or it may be the battery isnt helping whatever else is wrong. How many years and what trim is the vehicle?Yes sorry mean 2000rpm. Batteryis a RR Varta logo battery 110ah 850amp. Exactly same that the car has been running on for years with no problem until this year when everything seems to have come along at the same time
Ok that helps. I will now stop asking about trim There are two battery sizes for the L322 . The one you have is fine for the HSE. The larger one is necessary for the Vogue and above. Having the smaller one in the Vogue + can cause all sorts of issues. It’s the HSE 2006 L322 aj pet 4.4 V8. LPG conversion
My friend on the mainland has an X5 like that. At least he has an excuse, its a dieselAt least it still drives, however locals que at the bus stop when I’m approaching thinking it the next bus
It gets worse, Sh1tfit AND Sh1t part.If I’m not mistaken the alternator was a Britpart 150amp but I’m just checking spec.
