Gearbox grinds between 2 and 3rd when cold

Hi guys,

When the engine on my TD5 is cold, there is a distinct grind when changing between 2nd and 3rd gears whilst the clutch is down. This problem seems to go away when the engine has warmed. Its only done 12,000 miles, so i wouldnt imagine the transmission oil needs changing.

Anyone else seen this problem?

has it got the correct amont of oil in it?

Ours has done that since new. never took it back as was told it was how they are. Have mine in to dealers at the moment and they have lent me a 90XS with 5k miles on it....that does it too.

Mine does too - 90 CSW Td5 with 17,000 miles.

Mine was made a lot better by my main dealer when they were changing the spigot bush they did some little mod. its something to do with the way they are put together in the factory, I didnt really go into it to deeply. now 8 out of 10 changes are smooth...
