gaydon landrover experiance

last weekend i had a birthday treat , i went to the landrover experiance centre located at gaydon,its next to the motor heritage museum,

i had the 1 hour taster session in the all new Rangerover sport,
if you ever get the chance its well worth it, the course is quite challenging and the Rangerover was just fantastic, effortless to drive and the technology that is in these new cars is quite amazing, adjustable air suspension, selectable terrain mapping, adjustable hill decent, wading sonar display, these are just a few of the features that i can remember,

i did ask the instructor who also had a freelander , how a freelander would cope on the course , it was quite reasuring to know the freelander would cope easily as its a similar drive setup to the rangerover but not dose not have as much ground clearance

anyone else been there ?

I went on the 20 minute one this summer in a Disco 4. Very impressive. The Yeti I had at the time would not have got round for the same reason-lack of ground clearance.

My wife really enjoyed it as well. The cameras all round were helpful seeing what is happening all round the car.

I went to the one at Skipton. Had half day free of charge in a Range Rover Vogue. Only down side was I kept getting phone calls from the nearest Land Rover dealer asking I wanted to buy one. But the fun I had was great.

I've done 2 half days at Rockingham castle. FL2 and Disco 4.

Ive been to gaydon a few times with work it is quite good fun to see what they are capable of

they told me at luton the best vehicle to drive their course was the fl2, because you expect it to be the least capable, and it actually is the most surprising.

Can you take your own vehicle on these courses? Do they still own a load of wild land in Wales somewhere too?

You can't normally drive yer own vehicle round the LR experience day course but some groups have. Special arrangement I guess.

Shame. Be nice to pitch the old ones against the new ones. My old series 3 came with an LRE sticker on the arse so thought it might have been on one.
