Fuel magnets - anyone use em?

Morning,

A mate of mine told me about fuel magnets that you can buy on Fleabay.

Apparently you clip them on your fuel line and they can get you more mpg?!

Has anyone tried them before? They're cheap enough but there are loads of different makes.

Ask yourself why vehicle manufacturers don't fit them as standard equipment.
Passing fuel through a strong magnetic field does not change it chemically.

Close your windows, sunroof, and check tyres for correct pressure. If you have to spend money, service your vehicle....These things WILL make a difference. A poxy magnet wont.
 
It's a con , but if you want to play with magnets they do one that wraps around metal oil filters apparently improved collection of Filings ???:)

In answer to the the original question, I'm sure some people do use them.

There is, after all, one born every minute.
 
ouu, i've got some snake oil your friend can buy, if he rubs it on his chest it will cure any illness - he can also put it in with the fuel, with oil and in the radiator and it will improve mpg, and make butterflies come out of the exhaust pipe.

try a house brick?
wont collect filings,
wont make yer landy go better,
but can teach you how to drive more efficiently ?

put it under the peddle on the right,
to stop leadfooted drivers pressing that peddle that makes the engine go all noisey.

you`ll be amazed how easy it is to drive on a tickle of fuel after a while. :)

Ok, I be a bit harsh, but then I spose its a case of me doing the foot 2 floor bit for years when I wore a crash hat doing it,
itsa bin there dunnit thing.
today, and tomorrow, and the day after forever,
I am old, older & older still, so I drive with as little bit of oil squirting into my discos doosel as needed...
I have nowt to prove,
as I have done that in earlier years.
(dunnit real good too)

it took me ages to teach my yougest daughter that screaming up to a roundabout/junction/triffik lights is bad on your car. worse on your pocket.
It also taught her to read traffic flow lots further up the road!
It taught her that going from stop to go to stop quickly is just plain stupidly foolish..
at first she berated me for slowing down to early,
then at last the "penny" (£££`s more like) dropped,
if you goto stop, read the road traffic and just take your foot of the loud pedal early, saves your diesel & your brake pads!
 
I've seen these magnets, the claim is they magnetically charge the fuel. They are on par with those airbox turbines you can get which claim the flow of air over them turns them into a makeshift turbo which draws in more air causing more POWA!

You have to question the mental ability of people who buy into this bollocks.

These things are great but only if you buy the reputable makes. Snay Coil make some good ones, so do Yoobeen Ad, but the best ones are from Isawyoucomingamileoff.

Would be far better than the smog coming out of mine.

Don't listen to them jay it works 100%. I used to get about 2mpg and now I get 50+ - It only works if you believe in it though - which is why these other guys are naysayers. This effect is well known and studied phenomena. I can sell you one if you like. (My main job is to sell clothes to the rich and powerful - this is more of a hobby)
