+1 ^^^^^^ Why was the ECU changed? Could it be that the original ECU had a fault that burnt out the injectors?
It would be expensive to burn out another 4 injectors.

hiya

daft question if I may please , does the TDV8 use different injectors on different cylinders plse , if so could they have different windings/ ohms which could cause them to fail when reinstalled maybe in the wrong cyls

also thinking ref different injectors on what the EU is, ie some running higher / lower pressures

Many thks as always

ps, hope ur keeping well mate

I thought maybe it had blown when mega fuse went, got it tested and it was fine.

Yes it is hurting to pay 1k for 4, but car needs to be running so i need to bite the bullet as they say.

Ouch, terrible to hear that mate and worse for the mechanic to leave u in it

hope u get it sorted out

Hi

All good thanks, hope all is well with you!!

Not daft at all..

No they are not coded to port, or have difderent ohms etc, the difference is positioning of connector, fuel rail insert and leak off pipe.

You can swap banks on the V8 though

ie bank 1 with bank 2
1-8 2-7 etc.

Cheers

Update.

After replacing the 2 wrong injectors i wws supplied, I fitted the 4 new injectors fitted today, system bled ( took a while ) then a bit of coaxing on crank and she fired up. Gm

White smoke from drivers exhaust which eventually calmed down, suspect its fuel burn with moisture.

Was chuffed that i got it started as 3 mechanics were at it and 1 auto leccy and all cldnt get it too fire, anyhow joy was short lived, as i noticed oil dripping from the engine, turns out the 1st guy who replaced my inlet pulled the dipstick and tube from the engine, and just jammed it in so i wldnt notice.

Couldnt for the life of me re-insert it, struggled to locate the hole, ( keep it clean ( lost the heart for it today.

codes all related to injector failure.

Cheers
Gerry

Fook, that was a long haul for you dude!!!
Mega persistance, so once you've got the oil field sorted you can get out and reep what you have sown:cool:

Yea sure was Mark

Felt i was never going to get there.

Trusted experts who diagnosed the wrong fault, stuck to my guns and tested the injectors, all failed.

Ordered 4 new obes and they sent me 4 but 2 were wrong, waited another week foe the replacements, finally get it going now i need to navigate a rather tricky dipstick tube, looks rather difficult.

Bled the system on my own which i was happy when she fired.

Patience paid off

There are very few proper mechanics left, although to be fair these cars are so damn complex now there are so many components that can cause rough running - and so many ****ty parts tgat aren't 100% when new so you cannot trust new parts either.

Yea your right there, I knew it had to be mechanical, as the inlet swap involved injectors out and refitting.

They wldnt listen and thought it was electrical, trust Siemens to build an injectorthat cant be refurbed, shes running now, well i hope once i try and get this dipstick guide tube refitted.
