Front Springs replacement

Guys,

Just looking at the front of my disco and its slightly down on one side. Measured it and there's a bit in the difference. I was thinking the springs are 10 years old now and probable tired at this stage. Looked up replacement springs but can only find Britpart. Now I know how infamous britpart is and always steered clear of them but what are there springs like. Also what brand of shocks would yous recommend, have seen old man emu, Bilisten and Monroe for the disco. Thanks

I fitted Britpart springs and Bilstein shocks to the front of my daily driver D2 at easter and have had no problems so far.

I had the same problems - it was either britpart or genuine Landrover that was available from everywhere I tried.

I got the springs from Britcar and the shocks from Paddock.

Some say that the Bilsteins can be a bit harsh, but I hardly ever go off road so have not experienced anything that I would regard as harsh. But I did spend 9 years on a hardtail motorbike:eek:
 
Britpart springs are actually ok, loads of friends had terrifirma lift kits and there springs have sagged and lost height after less than 6 months, I'm running britpart springs on my 90 for few years now and there good.
 
Had no issues with Britpart springs themselves (except the first ones I got were in the wrong box and after fitting them discovered they weren't +40mm lift). But a guy that dealt with me from Britpart was very helpful it has to be said.
However, I wouldn't buy the supergaz shocks again.
 
Don't forget they're handed, so you need the correct one for drivers side and the correct one for the passenger side

+1 had them on the D2 and wasn't that impressed then the rears started 'squeaking' after a while.... Never again.
 
Put a new set on a friends disco, had to take one off to change the bushes about 4 weeks later, and the bottom thread of the shock sheared straight off lol!!

Had a set on my 90 before I put a twist kit on and only had them for about 6 months, took them off and they were fubbard, no rebound, completey seized up solid. One sheared the thread off aswell, all the supplied polybushes were fubbard.

And if say 95% of it was all road use.

But I'm happy with their springs anyway lol :)
 
I've Monroe adventures on my D2, done over 10 k

No complaints at all, did try KYB on the front, terrible, lower shock bushes in bits in 4000 miles, all on road too.
