front seat and strange wires

Whilst I agree with most of the comments here, Senior members should remember that some of us, just as they were, are new members, inexperienced owners and grateful for any help. To be cynical is rather unfair and not very constructive. I guess it is easy when you know everything. Of course an original cable would not normally run across the carpets, but it may have been disturbed during some other work, so before I just rip it out, I wanted to know if anyone could have an idea of its function. Guess I will try somewhere else where help is not given at the price of being derided.

thank you anyway, Dr G C G; aka Purdey

What's up Doc? Manufacturer fitted cables are in what are known as looms. The looms are made before they are fitted to the car. Before the carpets are fitted. Your wires will not be factory fitted. By the way i was not answering you so why would you think you were being derided. Or are you just a soft arse?

Is that your second opinion Wammers? Please put your invoice in the post. Perhaps he is used to lots of stick so is thin skinned.:D:D

Scared the poor chap off now ! :p

Booooo!!!! no back bone some people, if he is that educated why can he not follow a couple of wires to where they are connected or tuck then under the carpet and forget about them. If his performance on here is anything to go by on then Mozz was right. Wammers, wheel chairs in reverse and full speed. Perhaps he has been spoon fed all his life and expects preferential treatment because he has Dr before his name. As I said the Sir Paul McCartney last night, "I hate name droppers":p:p:D
