Front axle play?

All done now. Absolutly no knocks in the transmission. Replaced half shafts and CV's. What was causing the death rattle in the steering was that the nearside lower swivel pin had sheared off at the point where it joins the flange where it bolts on. This ruined the top pin as well where it had been vibrating in the bush. Whole axel swops and swivel work cost around £350 but worth it just to get rid of that Knocking when changing gear or pulling away.
