Hi everybody I need help!! My freelander td4 (2004) is giving me a head ache just bought it and I have this issue.
As soon as I go up hill I loose power and the engine light comes on, on the dash.
If I turn off and restart it will go away until I get to the next hill.
I have had egr off and it’s clear, even put a blanking kit on but no different so swapped back to original egr, all the intercooler hoses are fairly new so don’t think it’s that.
I’m now thinking that it could be a vacuum pipe plumbed wrong, I have a vacuum pipe from egr to egr solenoid which goes to the lower port and another vacuum pipe which goes from the solenoid to a black box at back r/h side back of engine compartment, is this correct and their any more pipes I need to check else where.
Other thought is could it be maf sensor or LP fuel pump.
Any advice welcomed.

Thanks
Aaron

FIXED FIXED FIXED

Bought a mountain of parts today to try and solve problem from fuel pumps to air filter, cost a small fortune in hope I can find the fault and return the unused parts.

Good news is I found it on 2nd part change and is running and pulling like a train, easy fix so the rest of parts returned.

It was the turbo boost solenoid at back of the engine next to turbo, easily accessible from under car didn’t even need under tray removing, 20min fix.

If anyone else this problem the part number is 7.21903.73 Cost around £65 for a peirburg one at euro car parts.

Hope this helps someone else in future having same problem.
