Hi folks, a bit of an update.. After sitting for a couple of weeks thinking the car was undrivable, as I expected, the starter motor seized up. I finally got around to taking that off and cleaning it up and rebuilding it, (as you probably know, you have to take off loads of stuff just to get to it !) With that fixed, I figured out that the car would still drive normally if I started off in manual 1st gear then once moving, If I then change to drive it changes gear automatically as it should until you slow to a stop and it changes to first gear. It will also work normally in manual including first gear. I am now wondering if my initial analysis was wrong as the only problem seems to be that it won't start off in drive (though there is a jolt as if it is engaging drive) Could this just be some kind of electrical fault caused by the water? Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
