glad to hear it!

I'm in the Durham area (NorthEast) anyone know of any decent LR or Offroad places I can go visit?

Hope you get sorted gmp, my problem is that there are a LOT of cheap 1.8's around. I'm just not prepared to take the risk of a head gasket failure. (She doesn't fancy a Rover 75 does she? :p )

Afraid not ! Even if she was would be more afraid of Freelander making it from Devon to your part of the world though! I've seen a 1.8 hardback with leather seats (probably known as the hairdresser special edition !) which is looking tempting. Aaaargh. I should know better and if I did I could get myself a decent motor. Good hunting !

We've had 40,000 miles of trouble free motoring from our 2002 TD4 - touch wood.

Servicing at a LR dealer was between £200 and £400. Now the warantee has run out we get the servicing done by our local friendly mechanic and the annual service came out at £202.

Tyres are £67 each. We changed the front set at 36k and I am looking at the others now.

We changed the brake pads at 36k too. This was a DIY job. I can't find the recepit for the parts but they were not too expensive - same parts as the Rover 200/400 and Honda Civic, etc.

Oh, told a lie, we did have one problem, a rattling/knocking sound from the driver's door - sorted out with a bit of grease on a linkage.

Cheers
