So this guy decided to park right next to me to try and show off his car. Really mate? You looked like you have just strolled off the golf course & you probably paid way too much for that car! Anyways had to take photos for laughs (you should have seen the guys grin & swagger) then he was bemused as to why I was taking photos.

But all he did was park next to another land rover. I've done the same. Even parked by tratters.

Wow, if it wasn't already bad enough that the Land Rover Community is already pointlessly split between owners of "real" Land Rovers and Freelanders, you've decided to start another unnecessary dispute between Mk1's and Mk 2's

Why do it?

Somebody in a very nice Mercedes parked next to my car the other day, looked down his nose at it, gave me a very patronising glare as he walked past.
I returned to my car at the same time as he returned to his.
I wasn`t the one with the parking ticket........................................

And to be honest I don't know many FL2 owners willing to get their hands dirty with their cars, especially as most are probably still under warranty.

I owned minis for years, 4 of them. That community is exactly the same, the BMW version isn't a mini. The FL2 is a minature range rover, nothihg affordable about it, and you certainly wouldn't risk damaging it.

Parking tickets (invoice) issued on a private car park do not have to be paid if the car owner is not the driver as the driver is the one responsible. Car park company have to prove who the driver was but choose the easy route and invoice the owner. The owner is NOT legally required to state who the driver was.

Have a look on some of the police forums, money saving experts forum, and many others including Anne Robinsons consumer show (you tube) all the advice is to throw the first, second, third and so on invoices in the bin as they are unenforceable. The invoice can look similar to an official parking fine but is simply an invoice, just ignore the threatening content. The only parking fines that are enforceable are those issued by the council or the police etc. There is a possibility that the law may and I mean may change in the future where you will, as the owner, be legally required to supply the drivers details but this has not been introduced yet. Also remember they have to PROVE who was driving the car so you as the owner could have lent your car or even taken it in for repair and it was out on road test when the invoice stuck on your screen was issued.

Typical, an empty car park, you choose a space well away from the door and people have to park next to you - bizarre
