narthen folks can anyone tell me what size wheel brace i need to
take the above off,2003 td4,dont know if its a 21 or 22mm,they are
alloy wheel ones.
alus used a 27mm on my other landys,(proper ones).

Hi there it is 22mm and always use a breaker bar that way you stand less chance of rounding off the nut should it have been put on by a Gorilla at one of the wheel places.

cheers for that info mate,& yes a gorilla
did put the new tyres on,ive got a bit of
scaffold bar to use on naughty nuts.

hate it when garages stand there with an air gun in hand thinking wonder if these nuts will ever require removing , lol

also had to buy myself a breaker bar , was hard enough getting the spare wheel off let alone the others

sometimes wonder if air guns are adjustable, thus lowering the power then nipping the nuts up with a torque wrench , or is that the common sense approach , lol

ditto mate,broke two of the nuts holding my spare on my disco,
had to use loads of washers to pack it & use ordinary bolts,also
before these blokes are let loose with their high powered air guns
it would only take them a minute or two to smear a bit of grease on the
studs/bolts for future removal.

Not directly - but you can get torque limiter type things. They look like an extension bar, but they're designed to twist and cancel out the hammer effect after a certain torque.

Slap on the correct extension, and you can sit on the trigger until the compressor fails - it'll never go any tighter than what the spring will allow
