Freelander 1 TD4 Sport springs

Hi All

Advisory on MOT today - all 4 suspension springs corroded.
Had a look online and can only find non-sport springs.
55 plate F1 TD4 Sport 5 door.
Checked Rimmer Bros but they don't stock them.
Anyone know where I can get them?

Hi,

Have you tried the main dealer ?
Some parts are not anymore fabricated and no more available.

You can get used coil springs from breakers.

Wow they're pricey !!
Must be a firm that can safely modify a standard set ?

How bad is corrosion. Maybe remove, get blasted and zinc coat then paint would be enough if no structural damage.

Cheapest I've found them is £260 for the set.

Haven't had a proper look yet, but that's what I'm hoping based on price of new. They were an advisory so they can't be at critical.

All springs go rusty. If it is surface corrosion then Mr MOT covers himself by putting it down as advisory in case it breaks.

If it withstands sand blasting and looks solid then prepare and paint.
