Springs and what not arrived yesterday, started the job today. Chassis jacked up and front wheel removed and another jack under the axle which I lowered once the wheel was off to give max droop. Spring came out without removing the damper top nut or the turret by compressing the damper.
Bit of extra work to do as the damper axle hole is well worn. Luckily I've got another spare very thick washer that I used to repair the same hole on the other side a couple of years ago.
