hi all,
First post... Be gentle with me.....
I've got a 2000 freelander commercial. The rear door or tailgate appears to have dropped. Consequently, the door requires a mammoth slam to get it closed. Or it did until I changed the locking mechanism.now however, it just bounces of the lock with an almight thud and stays open.
I can see where the hinge is bolted to the body and the door to the hinge. I've tried slackening them off, jacking the door up and tightening but it's making chuff all difference. I've also tried undoing the torx screws connecting the door to the hinge but they simple don't budge.
Any suggestions.....?
I'll take some photos of the offending door, hinge, gap and lock mechanisms for your perusal.
Danke muchly!
Ian.
