Hi
My Freelander has now been to 3 garages and still no closer to finding the issue, so can anyone help? It's had a new battery, all the filters changed and oil, new injectors, the Low pressure and High pressure pumps working fine both have been cleaned out and it starts fine, but you get 1/2 mile down the road and the engine cuts out and all the electronics then it starts again 1/2 mile down the road and the same thing happens???? Can anyone help who has had similar issue?

Having a quick search on here, the fuel rail pressure sensor seems to come up quite a bit. Did you have all of the work done because of the problem or has it occurred since?

This looks slam dunk like a faulty ignition switch to me.

Its the plastic switch bit that plugs on the end of the barrel. They are notorious for failing and simply turn the car off randomly.
I'll get my guy to take a look at it he is changing the crank position sensor tomorrow, thanks though as it sounds like you may have hit the nail on the head.

Is the ignition switch easy to replace or does it need special equipment?
