Evening All,

I have a 1.8 Freelander with a k series 1.8T, symptoms included pressurised cooling system, block test fail and white smoke.

I have recently rebuilt the engine 500miles ago, rebuilt skimmed head, liner shims, upgraded oil rail and head bolts, N series head gasket.

So I was confused as to how it when at 500miles, however I changed it for a new elastomer HG in case liner heights were the problem.

Again still got the same symptoms, the head is defiantly flat. Compression test passes 175psi per cylinder, less than 5psi between cylinders. No leakage on leak down test. But fails block tester. Both HG used same symptoms.

So x2 HG still problematic.

Any ideas?

The only thing I didn’t rebuild was the turbo, any ideas if this could be the problem.

Ask in the Freelander subsection of the forum, which gets more traffic than this subsection. ;)
