I am testing the water, so to speak, to see if there is anyone here that
would want a fresh built Ford 400 V8. I built it for a 1979 Bronco, but hurt
my back just after the engine was completed and never did get it installed,
and had to abandon the project. Sold the Bronco, still have a nice V8. The
engine is currently located in Albuquerque NM. If interested, post to this

Specs are as follows:
All machine work by Edward's Engines, Albuquerque
1978 Block bored with torque plates and mains torqued, .030 over
Speed Pro forged pistons
Speed Pro Plasma moly rings
Clevite 77 Bearings
ARP rod bolts
Forged steel rods, reconditioned
Crankshaft turned, oil holes chamfered, micropolished
ARP Crankshaft main studs
Crane Cams camshaft, suitable for nitrous, 1600 to 4500rpm
Ford SVO true roller timing chain
Hardened aircraft chrome moly thick wall pushrods, suitable for guide plates
1972 351Cleveland 2 barrel Heads:
Manely Black Max racing valves, fully tuliped, undercut stems, hardened
steel tips, QPQ black coating transfers heat. These are HEAVY duty racing
valves . J
Intake = 2.19 Exhaust = 1.71 3 angle valve job, Crane springs,
machined bar stock retainers, machined hardended keepers. Screw in rocker
arm studs (ARP), guide plates, Competition Cams Magnum roller tip rocker
arms. New valve guides, new hardened steel valve seats, teflon valve seals.
Heads professionaly assembled by Edward's Engines.
Compression = 9.42 measured
ARP head bolts, ARP intake manifold bolts, ARP oil pan stud kit
Felpro premium gaskets
Balanced, with new flexplate and harmonic balancer, new starter, new rear
oil sump pickup,
Oil pump, a stock Federal mogul, AND a Melling high volume, your choice to
use, Rear sump oil pan, Chrome valve covers
This is a long block, so you will need:
Oil pump shaft , Intake manifold, Carb , water pump, Distributor, Exhaust
manifolds or headers (I have exhaust manifolds out of a 4x4 truck you can
have), any other external components like alternater etc.. That's about it.
