As above pondering an FL2 but don't know what spec i need
Tried to read Hippos downloads but intnernat polic wont let me read brochures
needs are as follows as it will be used for intermittent work use

  1. ****- nav
  2. BLue tooth to connect work phone
  3. cruise
  4. AC/Climate
  5. best seat combo that gives best leg room options as over 6ft manual/electric etc
Cheers

If you want nav and standard BT, then go for the SE or HSE. I went for the SE, as it has almost as much equipment as the HSE, but at a lower price. Leather is optional on the SE, but my preference is for cloth, as it's cooler in summer, and warmer in winter.

HSE gets leather seats with 3 memories, and the annoying to me dipping passenger mirror.

For reference, my SE has the following equipment.

Duel zone climate control.
Heated from and rear screens.
Heated and power adjustable cloth seats, with leather bolsters.
Cruise Control.
Touch screen Sat Nav.
Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Steering wheel audio and phone controls.
9 speaker Alpine CD audio system with a subwoofer in the boot.
Separate audio controls in the rear (interesting idea).
Power fold mirrors, with heating, electric adjustment and puddle lights.
Twin glass roof panels, the front one opens, both having sun blinds.
There's also 3 power sockets, 2 in the front are ignition controlled, the luggage area socket is powered all the time.
Mine is a 6 speed manual gearbox, with LR's Terrain Response system.

I think that's it for the SE level of equipment, lesser models will have less stuff.

Ours is an HSE Td4 10reg Auto - which means it has the later Haldex but not yet fitted with DPF - that's great for us 'cos Madam drives 1 mile to Bridge sessions four times a week in non-Covid times

Currently have a 2007 HSE, nice spec. LR Sat nav is awful, use google.

It's not as good as a Droid running Google Maps, but it's integrated and looks better than a hole in the dash. I've got the 2019 updated disc, that did a software update too, which I suppose does something, not that I've noticed in the little time I've had it.

Try it with the new car and antenna. You might find you have a decent reception now.

The DAB antenna is integrated into the LHR window, with the amplifier mounted to the roof frame above it.

It's not just the FL2 DAB that's rubbish, as our 2019 MY CX5 is just as bad, as was the Ford Kuga before that, and the Astra GTC before that.
DAB is fine in the house, but moving in the car causes it to go on and off, to the point that it's useless. We listen to a local station on FM, so it's not an issue. ;)

brochures received with thanks Hippo

So what do you need you FL2 to have?

Mine has the glass roof, which I actually don't really like (I wouldn't have paid extra for it), but I wanted the nav (for what it's worth) and some other SE upwards things, so I was looking for an SE or HSE. I also needed an FL2 to be within my budget (preferably under £3k, and in good general condition (I didn't mind fixing the engine), so when this SE came along, I placed a bid and became the owner.

The garage I bought it from seemed to have been a bit dishonest, as I've subsequently discovered that they removed a good tyre/wheel, fitting an odd bald one in its place, and pinched 3 reverse sensors too, but otherwise it seems to be as described.

I'm pleased with it, especially now the engine is running again.

Good luck with the search. ;)

As above really, sat nave more of a want than need as been managing with google maps on phone for a bit but id like one same

phone connectivity of some sort is essential, glass roof not fussed wither way but i know my daughter would like it i think

besides that just a decent car that's not got rotten rear arches ( or at least manageable )

it will be used on rough farm tracks in peak district ( now an NFU account handler) so will be going out on visits to sites and other small business so decent tyres will be a must

and comfort wise which ever seat be it electric or manual that gives the most leg room
