Fitting the Spare on the inside of the back door

This is why i cant fit it on the bulkhead

I believe KISS is the way to look at this.
Option 1- Just lay it in the back, put a strap over it to stop it moving anywhere. Clearly the cheapest quickest and simplest :p
Option 2- Try and make a wheel mount for the inner of the door if you wanted to, I think it will be a real pain but hey ho!
Option 3- You could spend £200 odd on the raptor mount that goes up the van side and sits on top of the wheel tub but is it really worth it? They also seem to be out of stock and removed from there eBay listings http://www.raptor4x4.co.uk/raptor-4...carrier-for-land-rover-defender-90110130.html

Cheer's yeah i will have a weigh up and see first it may end up staying where it is and just have to be careful or do as you said and lay it down in the back strapped in but we do plan on fitting forward facing folding seats at some point so having it on the back door would be best but idea'ly on the inside if i could :)
 
I had ago at removing the spare wheel carrier and refitting it back to front just to see with the spare fitted how much i needed to raise the spare wheel as with the spare fitted on the outside of the door the tyre sits lower than the floor, so i will look round for some thick plate so i can fix it to the studs in the normal position and drill 3 more holes higher than the original holes to raise the wheel, the tyre is close but not touching the inner door lever but i can sort that but just need to make sure the tyre doesn't touch the lip on the lower quarter panel :)

Got me some steel plate of my bro today so on Saturday if I get chance I will have a go at raising the spare up a couple of inches on the carrier and see how it is :)
 
Haha sorry all hell broke loose the following day, I have took the pic's just not had chance to put them onto my laptop yet as my sons car died and we ended up buying another after trying to fix his current one so I will try and post them later this week as I have test fitted it and it all works well with slight flexing but think that to do with the door already being damaged as the frame is all cracked and bent but now I know it all fits I will buy a new door which will be stronger but mite strengthen it aswell but not sure yet :)
