Hi guys. I have just bought a new roof, sides and rear door for "Emily". She has an aluminium capping around the top of the tub which is set up for the poles and canvas. Obviously l will need to remove the existing cab to fit the safari rear but do l have to drill out the rivets and remove the Ali capping to be able to bolt the new sides on? If so are there existing holes or will l need to drill some? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Absolutely not! The capping is an integral part of the body no matter what body option you have! You need packing strip and the bolts to hold the hard top in place. Have you got a workshop manual? If not phone Craddock's or have a look at roof parts on their web site. Hold onto the cab. What sort of rear door have you got. You'll need hinges or catches for that as well.

Thanks John. I was going to keep the old roof anyway so l can have the different options. I have a Haynes manual that l had forgotten about so l will look in there first then Craddocks if l have no joy. The door is a one piece but sadly no hinges but l have seen them on eBay so when the times comes to fit the door l will buy a set. I think l need 3 hinges but l will check the door and rear of the body to make sure. I need a lock as well and so it begins!!! Thanks for your reply.
