Disco 3 (LR3) Fitting a 3.5mm aux socket Update

Hi

Am trying something to see if it will work , looks like I can just get past the circuit boards and out the corner

Not 100% sure though if it looks ok or not

Haven’t got a heated screen so that one is just a blank

Bottom blanks no good as the aux socket is 8mm dia and would otherwise sit on the curve bit

Will update it as I progress

Bit of an update

Found a loom so now I won’t have to join into the main loom, can simply plug this adaptor loom in

Slowly getting there with this , sorted out the previous wiring mess so pleased that’s all done

So wished to update this thread , seeing the rain had stopped and ideal time to carry on

Sorted out all the heat shrink, plus bought all new screws for the panels, there was a mixture so got all posi drive screws

Plugged the harness in and connected everything up, saves having to mess around adapting and cutting into the loom, just plugs all in

Don’t think the 3.5mm socket looks too bad, going to clean all the panels properly before re installing them

Picture is a bit greyish as I tried to brighten it up abit

No worries and more than happy to help with the wiring etc

I’ve virtually finished the aux fuse box

The dual battery gauge now displays main and aux, plus the fuse box has 6 x spare connections , all run off the aux battery and when the ign is turned off that also turns off , because I ran it through a relay with an ign trigger wire

Moved the T max controller into the glove box , need to plug my ctek battery charger in as batteries are low , need to be 12.6 , plus can now monitor both batteries considerably more accurately when the engine is running as the gauges have wires straight from each battery

Should read up to 15.5vdc when running and then drop after a while to around 14.5vdc

Next will be plugging in the obd display, just need to decide where

Now with the fuse box done , can install the hardwire kit for my dashcam,

Refitted headlights and all the bonnet letters finally removed , can’t see any outline

Only if I choose to look at it whilst driving , Another reason I put my mobile phone in my glove box

Same where I see so many people playing around with satnavs going down motorways

Also as we have higher vehicles I think we all see things that surprise us still, reading papers, etc, etc the list goes on

Do wonder if it will become the same with satnavs as it has with mobile phones

Indeed, took ages to mess around getting the wires back carefully

Found putting the radio in first helped

At least that’s a little job out the way and got the batteries reconnected now
