With the brisk morning today, on the journey to work along a small country road, found a patch of ice to which the rear of the L322 found a little un-nerving causing my fundamental orifice to flex rapidly....:crazy_driver:

Must be more mindful that whilst they are sublime in the white stuff, the laws of physics are absolute and we are still a soft and squishy species sitting inside a big metal box......
 
Was only doing about 20-25 as it is at the brow of a hill and a left hand turn, so I am always contuous of the sudden change in direction, the ice had formed in the depression at the top of the hill and it took me by surprise....suddenly the back is moving around on me...!!!

Luckily it was only about 1500mm long and as soon as the rear tyres found tarmac again, all was well..!!

As I've said many times TC, ESP, ABS are as much use as a chocolate teapot in that situation. 2.5 tonnes does not like changing direction or stopping on ice. None of the fancy electronic driving aids help, in fact they make matters worse as they disguise the grip levels until it's too late.:eek:
 
Had my first total loss of traction for the year. Certainly gave me a bit of a shock as it ended in a thump .................................Thankfully it was me hitting the ground after slipping on black ice, not the rangie ;) :laugh:

You have to be careful at your age. Don't want to break your hip now.

Bugger, good point, I might need to watch my back. God knows what danger I'm putting myself in. A mad woman with a gun? Scary business. :eek: Especially as I'm in Scotlandica for the next 3 days. May need a disguise.

There is a simple way to get around that problem, don't fall over. :p

You'll need more than a disguise if you're going where I think you are. You will run but you can't hide :D
