You got 3 years before you can drive it on the road, if you can afford the insurance
So my advice is take it apart every nut and bolt and put it back together, do this 3 times, that way when it breaks down you will know what to do

At 17, with no driving experience, a 90 with a Tdi engine will be horrendous to insure. If you really want a Land Rover as a first car, then I would suggest an SIII 88" with a standard engine. These will be cheaper to insure and easier to maintain cheaply. Be aware, that unless you learn to drive in your landy, you will find it a very different experience to driving the modern car you will use for your lessons & test. But driving a series landy from an early age will actually make you a better driver, provided of course that you do not wrap it around a tree before you gain any experience.

That is a reasonable cruising speed for them. But how fast do you want a 17 year old kid in control of almost 2 tons of metal with 30 year old brake technology to go?
