Hi,
I purchased a Disco 2 52 plate GS Auto from a dealer at the start of the month. The day after I bought it the following problems occurred.
Three Amigos
Injector Failure
Window regulator gone
3 Doors passenger doors don't open via the key
Sunroof leaks
Main Bulbs gone on vehicle
Front Passenger Tyre near bald
Drivers tyre slow puncher
Tracking out
The vehicle has 89K on the clock and I know I wasn't expecting the best car in the world however I assumed i'd not have this many problem. There is a 6 month warranty on the vehicle and as soon as found issues I complained to the deal who said he will sort it under the warranty.
He recommended a garage which was in barking (a two hour drive away) and I live in central London. I took it there, the chap fixed the injector but I was told to bring it back the following week to fix the doors and window. The warranty company (autogroup) said that I had to call and the dealer couldn't do it and I had to provide a diagnosis. Turns out the dealer who said he would handle it had already started the process of repair with the garage. When I spoke to the garage and asked for the diagnosis they said they didn't keep it so it was lost.
Consequently I was in a position where I had no car, I wasn't covered by the warrenty and I was at risk of having a £25 per day fine for keeping my car at the garage past the pick up date.
Both myself and the garage owner tried to contact the deal but heard nothing back. In the end I had to pay for the repairs myself as I needed the car.
The dealer did text me and say he would pay half while he sorts out a favour from the warranty company. This has been going on for weeks now and I haven't spoke to him on the phone only text and I have received neither the money or a call.
Thankfully I paid by card so called the credit card company as I am covered under sections 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
They put a hold of the interest on the car purchase and the repairs. From what I understand from the Sale of Goods Act, you can expect the car to:

I want to keep the car for the simple reason I spent 5 months looking for what I thought was the right vehicle and I think it is, but these faults are added costs. The reason I need it is because I am using this vehicle for a charity drive to the Western Sahara in October and have sponsors lined up and any further delay would cause me to miss the date.
My issue it I only have the injector fixed and nothing else so can I get the other issues fixed to bring the car up to the standards advertised and claim or do I have to wait?

- be of satisfactory quality (taking into account its age and mileage)
- meet any description given to you when you were buying it ( whether in the advert or in discussions prior to sale)
- be fit for the purpose (for example, to get you from A to B safely).
If something you buy is not 'as described', or if the seller is guilty of misrepresentation, you are entitled to:
- give the second hand car back and get your money back, or
- if you want to keep the car, ask for compensation (usually the cost of any repairs it needs)
