Fault Code P1DF5

Hello,
Freelander diesel TD4 2005 conked out on Saturday , just ground to a halt. AA brought us back after we coughed up £66 to extend cover. Mobile mechanic came changed fuel filter, cleaned fuel sender unit (why?), fiddled under the bonnet - car eventually started and ran for 10 mins then stopped - just turns over and now has fault code P1DF5. Hoping my partner's key will work when she get's home but not feeling confident.
Any thoughts would be most welcome.
