This is me sh***ing myself going down a slope in the Landy for the first time.

I was full on the brakes at the beginning (because I was terrified), but did listen to him and took it off when we were going down the hill. That video is scary though!

Surely he fell over because he turned sharply when going to fast though?

Video's and photo's never seem to do justice, i quite often go out offroading or greenlaning and take alot of pic's and video, when you get home and watch it back it never looks as impressive as in real life for some reason.

Yup, too fast, then braked. If he'd let off the brakes he'd probably not have flipped it. Down a hill like that you really need low box 1st (occasionally 2nd if it's smooth is OK) then don't touch the pedals on the way down unless the wheels lock up, in which case a good dab on the throttle usually sorts it out (BTDTGTTS).

Trying to brake is a big no-no as all the weight is low down and the back-end is so light it just pirouettes round and you lose it.

Sounds odd but you also, (mostly) on a hill like that with a raised centre, or ruts, don't need to steer much if at all, and only need extremely light pressure on the steering to maintain direction. Adding steering input just compunds the lightness of the back-end and allows movement sideways as the front wheels dig in and seem to magnify the steering input, hence why you also get over-correction with the vehicle slewing from side to side.

Exactly .. text-book manouvre that .. ;)

A dab is usually a squirt of power and straight off it again, just gets the wheels turning together.
