Any problems with fitting 1 Ton spring shackles to an 88 S3?

How much lift will it give me?

Any problems with Propshafts to short/ Brake lines breaking?

Guess I might need longer check straps?

As far as I am aware the is no problems fitting them, remember if you extend your check straps you may damage you dampers. :)

I have 1 ton shackles on mine at the moment but will be taking them of, putting it back to standard(ish), If you want to exchange your standard shackles for my 1 ton one's let me know :)

Might be interested in a swap, when ive looked into it a bit further.

How much lift do you get?

Are they easy to change?

I will post up later I will take a measure ment from wheel centre to bottom of wheel arch, may get a piccy as well

As to change depend if the bolts were greased when they were fitted. My fronts came apart easy enough :)
Only needed the little hammer :)

Hi the distance from wheel centre to bottom of wheel arch is 22.5 inchs on mine, not sure on what springs are fitted but the arn't parabolics.

As you can see you get a lot of articulation :D

Looks pretty gd.

Where can I get extended check straps?

How could we do the swap, as I havent got enough axle stands!

Thanks,

****Ignore Above comment about check straps!***

Sorry did'nt read your previous comment, and thought i needed longer check straps to stop damper damage! Had'nt thought about that one!

Of course if I keep them the same it will be fine.

Would be interested in a swap?

I could send you mine then when you fitted them send your back to me:)

Oww, That would be great.

Ill have a look at how hard its gonna be to loosen the 34yr bolts when I get back (2hrs)

im running 1 ton shackles, pairobolox springs, no check straps and 750x16s.

the main problems ive found is finding shocks long enough to accomodate the travel (strandard rears on the front, and procomp +2" at the rear), the front prop hitting the crossmember (i made a 12mm prop spacer) and a longer rear flexi hose from a 1 ton landy.

i really do rate 1 ton shackles as a mod, it only give a 1-2" lift but its enough to get you over sharp hills.

just for a land rover newbie, how much longer are the 1-ton shackles? Can someone show me some pics of standard vs 1 ton please?

Thanks :)

Carful of ya dampers on full articulation, there is no stop in them :D unless there is in the procomps?

procomps alegedly have bump stops in them, and the front doesnt flex enough to max the shock i have on. it be reet tho, procomp shocks are dirt cheap and as of yet i havnt managed to break one.

Not sure to be honest Yella, they were on the car when I got it they look standard. Hense one of the reasons I want to swap em (the shackles that is)
