I am not sure if battery chargers cut it. SDD needs 12.5V before it kicks into updates
It does indeed, it actually checks battery voltage before programming. It shows mine as 13.8V with my power supply, linked above.
even my heavy duty battery charger only puts out 11.8V going by SDD
Sounds like your battery charger isn't working correctly, as a PB battery isn't charged until it's voltage has reached 13.6V, which wouldn't happen if the charger only reached 11.8V.

gonna have to check that out, maybe its smarter than i give it credit and it only humps out when needed?

Gentlemen, I present you JLR SDD. Took me a few days to install/setup in between the works of my stripped down fl2 engine.

Available at https://tinyurl.com/projlr in both virtual machines or iso kits of standalone installations.

Check JLR SDD Installation.pdf, covers all details.

@Nodge68 perhaps is a good idea to publish the link on first page so whoever lands here from google or search to not read all the pages?

IPC mod guide is in the works.
All images have the IPC mod included.

Brilliant job mate. Thanks!
You won't get anywhere near enough thanks from the many folk who will use this so I'll thank you on their behalf. ;)

I'm looking forward to doing this Ipack upgrade.
Thanks for the time you're putting in on this project. ;)

PRO might well be useful if you decide to EV a FL2 Ali.
There's going to be lots of computer trickery needed for that conversion. ;)

You read my mind Nodge. :p

I figured that with FL1s getting older and thin on the ground. It might be sensible to move on to the FL2, as they are currently plentiful, and actually have considerably more space for batteries and stuff. ;)

It will have to happen some day but for now I'm happy to stick with the FL1. I still have a lot to learn just getting the batteries fitted, connected, balanced and charged so it's good I don't need to worry too much about car.
I figured a long while back that for my first leccy car project it was best to keep things as simple as possible. :)

And then I went and bought a Leaf without a battery and a eGolf battery to go in it.

no sdd for fl1 :) with sdd we have the VBF files which can be played with.
does anyone have an fl2 SD4 around here? :)
I want to see which VBF file is used for ecu on sd4s. All I need to do is a full diag scan and query module information.

Its true I have an SD4. I also have an ssd which I bought late last year I think. Promised meself at the time I wouldn't use it initially as I have lots of other stuff on me castle to do first. If I started playing with it it would become another destruction.

Also if you can pm me the VIN please I would like to compare part numbers on turbo, injectors, intercooler and what not against td4 to see if something is different.

Today was a good day, sdd pays off.
I did a relearn on injection, idle adjustment and tested turbo, egr and all. It idles so much better now.

My sdd is broke'd. Won't do anything.

Engines... The late TD4 has a lot of differences to the early TD4. It's the same DW12 but a different variant. The late TD4 is the same as the SD4 with a biggerer turbo and different computer. Lots of other changes including the re wiring and fuse boxes.
