This thread is going to be for anyone to post anything relating to JLR SDD.
So any hints and tips on how to use it, and what you've used SDD for.
All information relating to the comprehensive piece of software will help others use it.

What is SDD?
SDD is an acronym for System Driven Diagnostics.
SDD is the diagnostic software used by JLR dealers for diagnostic and programming modules on all CAN based LRs after ~2005.
So what do you need to use SDD.
A laptop being the main requirement. It needs Windows 7 Pro 32 bit!! However I've got it working on W7 Home 32, so it doesn't seem too fussy here, but it WON'T work on a 64 bit OS.
The laptop MUST NOT have Internet access, so I pulled out the WiFi card from mine.
If SDD is allowed to update, it stops working, presumably because it's cloned/cracked/duplicated software.
You'll also need a way to connect the laptop to the vehicle. I used a Mongoose Pro cable (probably a clone) which I got from here, for £32.

This cable came with a CD/DVD with JLR SDD version 1.59, which is suitable for LR vehicles from 2005 up to 2017, and the necessary drivers for the Mongoose cable itself.
It was quite clearly a Chinese version, as a lot of the windows setup window popup boxes are in Chinese text, but luckily it's a standard windows format, so I managed to load the drivers, although I didn't read the instructions first time, which upset things a bit. The trick is to load the Mongoose Pro drivers to the laptop, before plugging the cable in, which is backwards to most other PC drivers.
SDD takes some time to install, and requires a few restarts in the process, but once it's loaded, it works well, and is in English, which is helpful.
You'll also need some form of auxiliary power supply, as most routines require the ignition on, but engine off, so the battery will go flat pretty soon. SDD terminates any routines if the battery voltage drops below 12.8 Volts, so an auxiliary power source is important. I actually hooked some cables between the wife's car battery and my LRs battery, which kept my battery charged at 13.6 Volts the whole time. My vehicle (a Freelander 2) took about 10 Amps to maintain the voltage, but a D3/4/RRS/FFRR will probably use more power.
How do you use SDD?
When you first run the software, you need to allow it to read the VIN. Once done, it pulls up the available options for the actual vehicle it's plugged into. This is then called a Session.

I will continue to add my own pictures and information as I get more versed with SDD.
So far I've only run a limited amount of routines with SDD, although that does include replacing the engine ECU/ECM/PTM (use whichever acronym you prefer).
I've also calibrated all engine sensors using SDD, and the engine definitely idles better as a result.
