HELP!!!
Went out in our 2002 V8 L322 today. Every thing fine and ran like a dream. parked the car and left it unlocked (school car park) for about 1 hour.

Came back to the car, key in the ignition, seat and steering changes position as normal, Lights on the dash come on as normal. NO WARNINGS.

Turn the key and....... nothing?

Turn everything off and on again and again nothing. Sound from the dash rather like the fan was on briefly.

Central locking works fine.
Any ideas?
Please help as soon as possible please.

Many thanks

Thanks everyone. Jump started it from my Discovery and got it home....Relief.
Have got the battery on charge to see what charge it takes. I do remember that when I first go tin the car before it refused to start the was a loud fan like noise form the dash. Not a subtle little wurrrr but a proper fan. Any ideas? Could this be the cause of the drain on the battery? or is it a case that when the battery is border line any number of strange adn wonderful things can happen.

Yes. This issue seems to be cropping up more and more. Do a search for final stage resistor to start with. I'm not fully up to speed with these as I have a p38 but have read a good few threads on fans not switching off. Mattstevens is our resident expert on the L322 battery drain.

Hi,may not be this and as i know very little about RR3 it prob has nothing to do with it.However i have a 2001 4.6 and the same thing happened to mine. I found out the engine had lost it's sync to the pump. This was caused by my RF receiver getting a sig from next doors door bell? I am told this can happen and the new receivers made now are ok.I got a tool of ebay £60 you plug it in and 10 seconds later she fired up..Sorry if this does not help, but worth a try?
