No can do this week. But looking good for Saturday:D (subject to babysitting). I've found lots of lanes in Suffolk (source: Multimap / Bing).
Happy new year to all.
Cheers Nick.

I presume that any TRO is made clear at both ends of the lane (pls confirm if i'm wrong about this:eek:).
I found one last week, which was on the map as a byway and when i got there found it was restricted to permit holders only, so I didn't bother with that one. I had a drive of some others that were just signed as byways (Sutton, Woodbridge) mostly sandy, but nice scenery.
Also a short lane in Rendlesham Forest which stopped at the disused airfield perimeter. Ideal film set for a zombie film!!!!

it dont nessacery mean that it a TRO, the only way of telling is the RWO at the council, or a club ROW officer - ROW Right of Way officer

Hi Stu,
I want to ensure that if i arrive at a lane which is shown on the OS map as a byway (green crosses) and there are no notices / signs informing me of that a TRO (temp or not) is in place then common sense (Local authorities....common sense, oh well:doh:) should suggest there is no TRO in place?

I've just been looking @ the Suffolk.gov website (sorry i know this is the Essex lanes thread) and it states:
Public rights of way affected by a TRO are clearly indicated by signs at the entry points to the route
It also has a PDF of all permanent TRO's. I think I'll print the webpage and PDF and take it with me, just in case I get challenged.

I'll be joining the Suffolk club at the end of the month anyway and will keep the ROW officer details on me, I just cannot understand how the LA expect people to know there is a TRO in place without putting up signs????

Thats all you can do is check and if it says that its good to go the use it, I got all the tro's that I know of on a memeory map overlay, I just did not want you to get caught out.

At least you now know and have got the info and not just relyed on a map that may have the wrong information due to being out of date.

That list looks like the one I got, but will now check againstmy mm overlay.

Best to be armed with the info, theres always some numpty that do somthing like take signs down or put false signs up, or even block the lane.

Nothing is outside the realms of the anti-4x4 users!
Especially taking signs down to cause confusion and maybe even get 4x4 drivers into trouble.

I case anyone is bored i'm about to head down the workshop and change my brake pads and hopefully get my hand brake to work for the first time in 3 months.
Remember to bring your own tea cup!

Still in the office in London.

Shame since I need to change my Caliper and bleed my brakes.

Has anyone got a Sandblaster I could use to clean my replacement calipers up?

Dan, your just lazy! :p

Got a sandblaster here Brian, load of dry sand too which means i've been planning on blasting something but can't for the life of me think what it was.

Put new rear pads on but left the fronts, turned out they still had over half the pad left so no point. Got the wrong handbrake cable again lol.
Did notice my replacement rear diff is leaking so gonna get a new seal for it then i can tackle that and cleaning my handbrake drum out another day.
